Turmeric information has become a much talked about topic in recent time particularly with regards to the therapeutic properties that it may contain and as a result many research studies appearing.
It is a relative of the ginger family and Indians have been using this spice for over 2,500 years and some sources say 5,000. It is known to have a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent and can be helpful when applied topically to cuts and burns. It can also be used as a natural treatment for arthritis due to its anti-inflammatory properties and may also be beneficial for people suffering anxiety disorders and cholesterol.
GreenMedia dated 18 December 2019 published this turmeric information article “Curcumin Eases Post-Workout Muscle Soreness”.
It's no secret how effective turmeric is for easing temporary joint pain and inflammation. But if you're still on the fence about putting down the ibuprofen and reaching for a nutritional supplement to treat muscle aches and pains, a study on curcumin may prove to be just the incentive you need to stop the harmful NSAIDs forever
I learned many years ago that for turmeric to be effective it should be combined with black pepper.
On 5 September 2019 I visited my local health food store to purchase some more organic turmeric and I was offered a choice of two types
I chose the latter!
I grow my own organic turmeric and when I use this to cook, I add a food grade black pepper essential oil. I do this because of any article shown on this page advising that when combined it makes the turmeric so much more powerful. I also make an organic anti-inflammatory drink every morning and again this information is down the page. I have found that since adding the essential oil straight after the turmeric that the turmeric almost immediately completely dissolves.
I also use supplements containing curcumin combined with black pepper.

most versatile healing spice in the world with over 800 experimentally confirmed health benefits,
and an ancient history filled with deep reverence for its seemingly compassionate power
to alleviate human suffering. It may also represent the pharmaceutical
industry's single most existential threat, given that the preliminary science
signals turmeric is at least as effective as 14 drugs,
and orders of magnitude safer as far as toxicological risk.

GreenMedia dated 11 November 2018 published this turmeric information article “Why All Diabetics Should Know About Turmeric” Here is an excerpt:
“A recent literature review published in the International Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism titled, "Anti-Hyperglycemic Effect and Insulin Sensitizing Effects of Turmeric and Its Principle Constituent Curcumin," adds promising new support to the notion that the ancient Indian spice turmeric may provide an ideal drug alternative to treating and perhaps even preventing type 2 diabetes, which has become of the world's most prevalent diagnoses.
The study reviewed research published between 1998 to 2013 that indicates the active polyphenol in turmeric known as curcumin may provide an ideal intervention for type 2 diabetes, capable of mitigating characteristic pathophysiological hallmarks of the disease such as elevated blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and insulin resistance.”
NaturalNews dated 14 October 2018 published this turmeric information article “Research indicates that turmeric may help mitigate the growth of MRSA superbugs”. Here is an excerpt from the article:
“Now, a study that was published in the journal Molecule shows the promising role that curcumin, the primary polyphenol found in turmeric that gives it its distinctive golden color, plays in reversing infectious bacteria’s resistance to conventional antibiotics.
Previous research shows that curcumin can have synergistic effects with certain antibiotics. Therefore, the researchers wanted to explore how curcumin would interact with the S. aureus bacteria in various conditions. They found that the growth of the bacteria was inhibited in strains of MRSA that were exposed to curcumin.”
This is great news so much sure you click the link above and read the full story.

NaturalHealth 365 on 12 February 2018 published this turmeric information article “Curcumin dramatically reduces the risk of heart attacks, heart failure and stroke in 3 amazing ways.” The turmeric information article goes on to say:
“Researchers have long known of curcumin’s anti-inflammatory effects, and its ability to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines, neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative damage to cells and tissues. This power alone means that curcumin can help prevent heart attacks, heart failure and strokes.
Curcumin can also reduce risk of metabolic syndrome – a linked collection of unhealthy conditions including abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, glucose intolerance and excess fats in the blood. Metabolic syndrome can set the stage for heart disease, atherosclerosis and type 2 diabetes.
But anti-inflammatory capacity is not curcumin’s only benefit. This versatile compound also improves cholesterol and lipid profiles.”
On 8 February 2018 I had a routine check and was given an ECG which was termed “normal”. What is so good about this? I am in my 78th year and come from a long line of family who have died from cardiovascular disease or had cardiovascular disease for probably 20 years before reaching this age. I love to be able to share this turmeric information with people in an endeavor to help them maintain their health!
NaturalNews on 10 February 2015 advises us as follows:
“The only problem with curcumin is that our liver, in an effort to prevent excessive drugs and supplements and such, inhibits most of the absorption of curcumin (a process called glucuronidation), which makes the compound much less effective than it could be. But there are ways to increase the body's ability to absorb curcumin.
Mix Turmeric With Black Pepper
Piperine is the alkaloid responsible for the pungency of black pepper. This compound inhibits certain enzyme metabolism functions, which normally cause the disposal of what the body considers to be excess curcumin (this effect is not limited to curcumin, black pepper can increase the absorption of other supplements, too). Curcumin absorption increases up to 2,000% or more with just a small amount of piperine.”
I use Young Living’s Black Pepper Essential Oil and you would not need more than 1 or 2 drops at the most. Click this link to learn more about their Black Pepper and to purchase. This is really good turmeric information.
GreenMedia on 3 January 2015 brings turmeric information on why it may be the vegetarian’s best friend.
The turmeric information article goes on to say:
“In the National Institutes of Health funded study titled, "Curcumin boosts DHA in the brain: Implications for the prevention of anxiety disorders," researchers found that curcumin enhances the biosynthesis of the essential fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in the rat brain. DHA deficiency is quite common and can have a wide range of adverse consequences to the optimal functioning of the brain. If this animal study's results are applicable to human physiology and metabolism, it may contribute significantly to validating the role of vegetarianism or a more plant-centric diet in human nutrition.
Curcumin has been the subject of over 7,000 published studies in the past 45 years, over 1500 of which can be found on the GreenMedInfo.com database showing its potential therapeutic value in over 600 health conditions, making it possibly the world's most important herbal compound.”

NaturalNews on 18 May 2014 brings the following information on 10 foods that may help you:
Inflammation is the body's natural way to fight infection and respond to harmful organisms, irritants, damaged tissue or toxic overload. However, this natural response to temporary problems should result in a system-wide "all clear" within a few days or weeks. If it doesn't, you could be suffering from chronic inflammation, which is far from natural or healthy. If you're having persistent trouble with swelling, redness, pain, fever, loss of appetite or general malaise, try alleviating your symptoms with these 10 foods that fight inflammation.
GreenMedia 3 May 2014 - Science Confirms Turmeric As Effective As 14 Drugs
GreenMedia on 25 April 2014 provides more information on this subject. The article goes on to say:
“It could be written off as an overly imaginative cultural oddity that ancient Indians understood turmeric to be the physical essence of the Divine Mother -- a botanical embodiment of compassion and healing. After all, nothing in the known biochemistry of this common spice plant lends itself to so gratuitous a characterization, does it?
It turns out that even modern science now confirm that this 'curry' spice has therapeutic properties relevant to well over 600 different health conditions, and may therefore bestow on those who take it significant protection from many common causes of human suffering. Some of the more amazing examples are its ability to reverse aspects of dementia (Alzheimer's disease), replace Prozac, prevent type 2 diabetes, produce cardiovascular benefits as significant as exercise, including preventing post-bypass heart attack by 56%, heal the diabetic liver, kill lethal pancreatic cancer, and help kick painkillers to the curb for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, while giving at least a dozen more pharmaceuticals a run for their money.
While these examples are not proof of 'divine' benevolence, they certainly raise some interesting questions, not the least of which is how any substance could be so well suited for improving human physical and mental health with such a depth and breadth of effectiveness.

Green Media 18 March 2014 advises that the spice turmeric appears to be able to switch back on the self-destruct mechanism within cancer cells. – Watch the YouTube
An article published in Pharacognosy Magazine - Pharmacogn Mag. 2014 Jan-Mar; 10(37): 61–65. – the objective was to:
“To investigate the neuroprotective effects of Curcumin to mitigate the effect of the Fluoride induced neurotoxicity in mice brain using the histological and the biochemical parameters.”
There is much controversy with regards to the fluoridation of public water supplies with artificial fluoride compounds and some 23 studies now exist with regards to the harming of the IQ of our children. There is also information that fluoride calcifies the pineal gland and this is being implicated in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Read this article to learn more.
A further article provides information on how Curcumin can help prevent fluoride damage through its antioxidant potency and protect against neurodegenerative diseases through its ability to cross the blood-brain barrier. Research shows that curcumin prevents the build-up of destructive amyloids in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients, and can also help dissolve existing plaque. Several studies demonstrate curcumin’s beneficial effect on treating Parkinson’s disease, partially due to its anti-inflammatory nature. In fact, curcumin has been shown to influence over 700 genes!
You could sprinkle turmeric on your food to provide some kick to the food but it would be well worth investing in a quality supplement specifically designed for your brain and containing curcuma longa.
GreenMedia on 29 January 2014 brings information on how turmeric extract strikes to the root cause of cancer malignancy. The article goes on to say:
“A new turmeric study published in Cancer Letters is paving the way for a revolution in the way that we both understand and treat cancer. Titled, "Targeting cancer stem cells by curcumin and clinical applications," U.S. researchers evaluated the primary polyphenol in the Indian spice known as curcumin for its ability to target cancer stem cells (CSCs), which are believed to be at the root cause of tumor formation and malignancy.
Whereas conventional models of cancer assumed that the majority of the cancer cells within a tumor possess self-renewal capacity to differing degrees, the CSC model proposes that, "[T]he initiation, maintenance, and growth of a tumor is driven by a minor population of cancer cells termed cancer stem cells (CSCs)," and that "These CSCs undergo continuous self-renewal and differentiate to heterogeneous cancer cells, yielding new tumors recapitulating the parental tumors, while the majority of cancer cells lack self-renewal capacity."
Prevent Disease on 2 November 2012 provides information on how this amazing spice may equal exercise in relation to heart health benefits. It also enumerates all the health benefits of turmeric and asks “who needs medication?”
The article goes on to say:
“Previous research has
shown that daily supplements of curcumin combined with diet and
exercise strategies could be associated with more than a 60% reduction in
triglyceride levels, a reduction known impossible through pharmaceutical
intervention alone.
Powdered turmeric has been used for centuries to treat a host of illnesses. It
inhibits inflammatory reactions, has anti-diabetic effects,
reduces cholesterol among other powerful health effects. A recent study led by
a research team in Munich showed that it can also inhibit formation of
metastases.”
